Momentum Project Wins Award
A project for which Momentum provided Project Management and Organizational Change Management services received national recognition last week. The Pennsylvania Department of General Services (DGS) Public Works Modernization initiative received the e-Builder’s 2017 “Innovators in Construction” award for the public sector. The initiative also picked up statewide honors earning the “Governor’s Office of Transformation, Innovation, Management and Efficiency,” or “GO-TIME” award.
The highly competitive award is distributed annually to recognize individuals improving state government operations through efficiency gains, improved customer service and cost savings to tax-payers. DGS, along with their partnership with e-Builder, streamlined the management of building projects for state agencies and integrated all processes that led to a multitude of reports and customizable dashboards being virtually accessible to senior management and contractors. The department used the initiative as an opportunity to identify and improve inefficient processes in order to streamline and implement the changes. The process originally took five days to input bids for a single project, which now can be done in a matter of minutes.
As Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf stated, “The Public Works Modernization effort is a prime example of how we deliver a Government that works for all Pennsylvanians. I commend the DGS team for embracing the challenge of working smarter, implementing new technology and delivering greater value for our citizens, a better experience for our contractors and a faster solution for our agencies’ construction needs.” To learn more about GO-TIME, visit www.governor.pa.gov/go-time.
