Momentum, Inc. was once again a proud sponsor of the Dress For Success (DFS) Power Walk in Hershey, PA.  The Power Walk consisted of a 5K walk at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and also included a scrub drive with Momentum sponsoring the healthy snacks tent.

The Power Walk is a world wide fundraiser which promotes the Health & Wellness initiative of the Professional Women’s Group while raising funds and visibility for Dress for Success.  DFS empowers women to make healthy choices in work and in life and the Power Walk plays a crucial role in ensuring that women understand the need for a well balanced lifestyle.  The South Central PA chapter of DFS took it a step further by adding a scrub drive to help outfit disadvantaged women entering the medical field.

The healthy snacks tent included food and ingredients donated by local stores, including Subway, Rita’s Italian Ice, Panera Bread, Starbucks, and Central Dauphin Pizza.  The raffles included gym memberships, restaurants, and more.

Momentum employees walking the 5K also kicked off their annual 8 week walking wellness program which has participating employees wearing pedometers and keeping track of their steps with the goal of 10,000 steps per day.

Momentum started their “Sharing Our Success” campaign in 2008 as a way to give back to the local community.  Dress For Success South Central PA is one of the chosen 2012 charities along with Briana’s Hope, the PinnacleHealth Bailey House, Domestic Violence Services of Cumberland and Perry Counties and more.
