Momentum, Inc. is once again supporting  Domestic Violence Services of Cumberland and Perry Counties (DVSCP) just in time for Domestic Violence Awareness month. As part of its charitable support for DVSCP, Momentum provided supplies for Leadership Cumberland to begin restoring a DVSCP shelter, where domestic violence victims can seek safety.

This past weekend, volunteers from Leadership Cumberland helped restore the outside of the shelter. Most of the work was on the shelter’s porch to replace the old porch decking with new, treated wood and to paint the railings. The porch also received new fencing and lights. In addition, volunteers cleaned debris from the yard and walkway. The porch and steps will also be painted in the near future.

Earlier this year, Momentum employees also took part in the Walk A Mile In Her Shoes ® event at the Camp Hill Memorial Day Parade, where men walked a mile in women’s shoes in order to raise awareness about domestic violence and raise funds for the organization. Momentum also sponsors the DVSCP Gala and helps with the Mother’s Day Flower sale every year.

Domestic Violence Services of Cumberland and Perry Counties is a non-profit organization that provides quality services and support to those who are experiencing domestic violence and fosters positive social and systems change through education and advocacy.
