What is Project Management?

Project Management (PM) is the discipline of organizing and managing resources to complete a project within defined scope, quality, time, and cost constraints. Project Management is applicable to both one-time projects (undertaken to create a unique product or service that brings about beneficial change or added value to an organization) and on-going operational processes (permanent, on-going functional work that creates the same product or service over and over again).

Whether you want to create a corporate Project Management Methodology, set up Project Governance for a PMO, establish Project Portfolio Management, augment a team’s current Project Management process, or provide enhanced training for your employees to attain Project Management Professional® (PMP®) certification, Momentum can help.

Performing PM Activities
We recognize that you are the best source for determining what will or will not work within your organization — accordingly, we begin the process by interviewing key stakeholders to get an understanding of your current PM processes and needs. We use this information to map your processes, identify areas for project management improvement, and guide you through the implementation of the new methodology.

Momentum’s Project Management offerings include training, consulting, workshops, and the highly effective Project Management University® (PMU®). PMU is focused on helping your project managers and team members succeed by providing them with the planning, scheduling, communication, and costing skills necessary to effectively manage projects. With experienced Project Managers instructing your teams with content and examples customized to your organization, you are assured of getting relevant and applicable results.

When you contract with Momentum for Project Management services, we help you:

• Make sure that a project is delivered within defined constraints
• Facilitate the optimized allocation and integration of inputs needed to meet pre-defined objectives
• Carefully define a set of activities that use resources (money, people, materials, energy, space, provisions,
  communication, etc.) to meet the pre-defined objectives
• Track the project against the plan and adjusting the plan to make sure goals are achieved

Providing PM Education

Momentum is a Registered Education Provider® (R.E.P.®) with the Project Management Institute. Momentum’s Leadership in Knowledge (M-LinK) education program offers specialized PMP exam preparation classes taught by PMP-certified instructors.
